What You Hand Off Says More Than What You List
The boundary of your own crew is the part of a restoration services page almost nobody writes, and it is what makes everything above it believable. Naming what you hand to somebody else is the cheapest credibility on the site. Stated plainly, it also tells an assistant which jobs you can be named for when a customer searches, and which you cannot.
Why a named limit reads as competence
A services page listing everything reads as a menu written to catch searches, and every firm in your market has the same one. A list with no edge on it carries no information, because a reader cannot tell a firm that does all of it from a firm that will simply take all of it.
A firm that names its limit is describing a system it has thought about. The inference is not that you cannot do the work, it is that you have done enough of these jobs to know how one splits. The firms that lose work here are almost never the ones with the short list. They are the ones whose list turned out on site to be aspirational.
The four boundaries most crews actually have
Contents. Pack out, cleaning, textiles, documents and storage. Most firms send at least part of it out, and the customer cares because those are their belongings leaving the house in somebody’s van.
Electrical and plumbing. Licensed trades in most places, so the boundary is not a preference. The question is whether you hold the trade in house, subcontract it, or leave the customer to appoint one.
Structural repair and rebuild. Mitigation and reconstruction are different businesses with different crews, and plenty of firms do the first and not the second. Saying so is not an admission, it is the most common shape in the trade.
Trauma and biohazard. Separate training, separate protective equipment, and disposal arrangements unlike the ones you use for wet carpet.
Subcontracting and referring are not the same thing
Under a subcontract you hold the contract, you are paid, and the customer rings you when the tiling is wrong. Under a referral the customer contracts directly and you are out of the chain.
The reader is not asking who does the work. They are asking who they ring when it goes wrong, and we work with trusted partners answers neither. Say which model applies to which part of the job, and who invoices.
What to publish
Which parts of a job your own employees perform. Which parts you subcontract, and whether that subcontractor is paid by you or by the customer. Which parts you refer out entirely, and to whom if you will say. Whether you check that the trades you use are licensed where that applies. Who the single point of contact is once more than one company is involved. An assistant asked whether a firm handles contents cleaning can only repeat what a source states plainly, and full service is not something it can pass on.
Naming the other firm, and when not to
Naming your trade partners is the strongest version and it carries a cost: arrangements change, and a partner you dropped two years ago is worse than no name at all.
There are two workable answers. Name them and diarise a check of the page. Or describe the arrangement without names: a licensed electrical contractor, appointed and paid by us, working to our scope. The second ages better. What does not work is a trusted network of partners, which is the same as saying nothing. A named boundary also sends work the other way, because a trauma firm that knows you do water has somebody to pass water to.
The boundary of what we do here
SIMLL does not select, vet, license or manage subcontractors, does not advise on who is qualified to perform any part of a job, and makes no representation about any firm’s trade partners or their credentials. We sell none of it, and nothing on this page is legal or insurance advice. Which work a firm keeps in house and which it passes on is an operational decision for the business, and licensing questions belong to the relevant state authority. Our part begins after the boundary exists and is limited to whether it is written where a customer can read it.
SEO Is My Love Language was founded by Jose Villalobos, who has spent his career on a single discipline: getting businesses found, cited, and recommended by AI search. That combination, topical authority strategy paired with rigorous on-page execution, is what our team brings to every business we work with.
The credentials behind the crew are the other half of this, which is why which certifications your technicians actually hold belongs next to this page. Mould is the boundary crossed most carelessly, and what mould remediation is and what it is not explains why. The commercial version of the same edge is the smallest job you will send a truck to. All of it sits inside how a restoration company actually gets found.
Frequently asked questions
Should we publish what we do not do?
Yes. A list with no edge carries no information, because a reader cannot tell a firm that does all of it from one that will take all of it.
Do we have to name our subcontractors?
No. Describing the arrangement works almost as well: a licensed electrical contractor, appointed and paid by us, working to our scope. What fails is a trusted network of partners.
What if we do mitigation but not the rebuild?
Say so. Mitigation and reconstruction are different businesses with different crews, and doing the first and not the second is the most common shape in the trade.
Should we say who the customer calls when something goes wrong?
Yes, because that is the question underneath the whole page. Name the single point of contact and say who invoices for each part.
Will a shorter services list cost us search traffic?
The firms that lose work here are rarely the ones with the short list. They are the ones whose list turned out to be aspirational.
